As a mentor, your role will be to meet the needs of your mentee by becoming a friend, a good listener, role model, a helper and a cheerleader. In addition, you will help foster the positive interests and talents of your mentee. You help most by being a caring and supportive adult who is interested in your youth's academic and personal success.

Do you have one hour a week to share what you know with a youth? If so, consider becoming a mentor. The requirements are simple. Once your application is received, a background check takes place, followed by an interview and a two-hour structured mentor training session. Sister Circle Ministry will then match you with a youth who has similar interests as yours. From there you will engage in activities with your mentee--activities which will ultimately promote change, foster individual responsibility and respect while building confidence.

Your commitment to spending at least three hours per month with your mentee in school or school-related activities, and committing to stay involved in the program for one school year is all it takes.
